• Growing up, as the author accurately describes, as the elementary school student watching the TV wheeled into our classroom, I joined America in holding its breath. My dad was an RCA engineer who saw it from the inside. I knew I was going to like this book,and I did. It is beautifully written.
  
  I found myself absorbed in the insights, the personal snippets. While they are giants, heroes, they are human beings. They were not always heroic, often all too human. They have insights no one else has.
  
  The author himself is sometimes all too human. He writes wonderfully. In the process of researching this book he obviously gained the trust and respect of his subjects. I couldn't help but wonder occasionally - was I reading the thoughts of these heroes, or of the author who dropped in a quote or to in support.
  
  Be that as it may. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, one of dozens I've read about our space program. It is a wonderful story.
• If you really want to understand and you should, I mean really understand what it means to go into space, to leave Earth orbit, to circle the Moon, to stand on lunar soil you have one best choice read " The Mission of a Lifetime." It was and it is not just the mission of a lifetime for the Apollo astronauts but for all Americans and all humankind. The only difference between the Apollo astronauts and the rest of us is they went there. It is still our story all of us.
  
  What Basil Hero has done for all of us is bring us as close as humanly possible to the experience of the Apollo astronauts. Mr. Hero makes the reader one with them. No need to close your eyes and dream of going to the Moon. With your eyes wide open reading "The Mission of a Lifetime" closing your eyes to dream of going to the Moon is a waste of your time.
  
  The only disappointment you will take away from this book and it is a good one the hunger for us to go back to the Moon and never leave it barren of human presence ever again. We should all thank Basil Hero for what he has accomplished with this remarkable ode to the legendary Apollo astronauts. Read it and you will forever look up at the Moon in the night sky with a sense of awe that will never leave you. Yes it is amazing what one book can accomplish !
• Basil Hero has written a superb book on America's great adventure in space -- elegant, evocative, illuminating, and topical in a year we are observing the fiftieth anniversary of landing on the Moon. Understanding the importance of story-telling, Hero seeks out 12 astronauts who went to the Moon and asks them what they saw and what they learned about the Moon, about Earth, about themselves. We may commonly see them as astronauts, even technocrats, given their training and experience, but here they appear at times as philosophers and humanists. • This lovely, well-written story captivated me from the very beginning. I loved the easygoing characters and the setting that was still Regency, yet outside the swirl of London. Great read. Well worth it.
• What a surprise ending to a timeless fairy tale . You could almost smell the flowers as Lisette names them off.
• Maiden in the Tower is a clever retelling of Rapunzel set in Regency times. If you're not into fairy tales, you can just read the story and thoroughly enjoy it. If you do like fairy tales, you'll enjoy finding the connecting threads. Gerry and Lisette are likable characters that are easy to empathize with. Lisette and her nurse have been hidden away since she was born. Gerry has been sent to the small estate that he will inherit from his mother with orders to find a bride with a dowry. The plot has some twists and moves at a good pace. I especially liked reading of the afternoons spent in Lisette's garden. Heidi Kimball adds humor with a very old ladies' fashion magazine and a tug on your heartstrings with Gerry's dog. I recommend this to readers of clean/wholesome romance and to fairy tale lovers. I got a copy from KU.
• Gerry Worthington has been sent to the countryside and cut off from his allowance by his mother until he overcomes his reluctance to marry a debutante who will bring status and money to the family. The story starts out with Gerry trying to find his adventure loving dog who has run off yet again. He quickly realizes Samson (the dog) has dug under the gate and entered the garden of the home next door. While there he meets Lisette, who is a breath of fresh air compared to all the women he does know. Lisette has never left the grounds of the walled in cottage and knows little of the outside world. Of course Lisette's innocence is appealing, and Gerry keeps coming back. There's the bit of mystery as to who Lisette is and what will happen once that comes out.
  
  I did enjoy the book. The writing is clear and good. I was surprised at the short length. I read this very quickly, and I think it was probably just a tad bit too short. The mystery being solved happened a bit too fast for me. I was fine with the resolution, and I thought the story very entertaining, so the objection I have is a minor one. This is a cute and short novella for when you don't have a ton of time but want something well written, clean and entertaining.

• OMG! What a sweet story!!
  I totally fell in love with this Fairy Tale retelling!
  I fell in love with Lisette and Gerry, they were so endearing, relatable and guileless. I loved Lisette's sweet nature and innocence. She's devoted to Dorothea, her guardian, and she doesn't rebell against her ordinary and secluded life. She's a sweet soul that enjoys the smallest thing in life... Gerry is the second son of an Earl who hasn't felt the weight of resposability yet. That is why his mother banishes him to their country run down estate and orders him to find a wealthy woman to marry so they can keep it up and renovate it. What Gerry doesn't expect to find is a beautiful and enchanting woman in a hidden cottage inside his land. A woman with a big mystery surrounding her. Why can't she leave her cottage? Who is the woman who banished her and doesn't want her to ever leave?
  This is a sweet and beautiful story as Gerry and Lisette get to know each other. Gerry knows Lisette is not what he needs in order to improve his estate, but he can't help the hold he has into his heart and soul. And Lisette starts to discover the beautiful world outside, but can she remain hidden and miss all that is out there?
  I totally recommend this novela. I only wish it was longer. The characters are so sweet that they need a longer story to enjoy them and get to know them more. But it was delightful even if short. I truly enjoyed this story!

• Gerry Worthington had disappointed his mother. According to her, he was constantly reminded that he was the second son of an earl and needed to settle down and find a wife with a dowry. To teach him a lesson, she sent him to the crumbling pile of stones that was the estate he was to inherit so he could rethink his priorities. While out looking for his dog, Samson, who had run away, he came up on a small cottage and a beautiful young woman with long, blond hair.
  
  Lisette Hunt had lived her entire life in a small cottage and surrounding land. She had never been allowed to venture beyond its borders. Her room was in an upper turret so he had a spectacular view but now way to experience it up close. She loved spending time with Gerry when he would visit her during her caretaker's nap, but she would never disobey and leave the confines of their property. The more time they spent together, the sweeter the time became.
  
  Near the end of the story, there are secrets that are revealed, such as who Lisette is, why she is required to stay in such a small place and never allowed to venture out.
  
  This is a sweet, clean regency romance. I loved Lisette's innocence and Gerry's kindness. This story is a quick read and leaves you feeling good. I was given an arc copy and I offer my honest review willingly.

• I read both of Phil Town's books, Rule #1 and Payback Time, for the first time back in 2010. Both were excellent in explaining the Graham/Buffett/Munger approach to investing and how the "little" guy investor could apply that approach to achieve similar 15% annual rate gains. In the intervening years, my Roth IRA, where I do my Rule#1 investing, has achieve a 19% AROR which attests to the fact that these investing principles work.
  
  In addition to reading the books, I've been a follower of Phil and Danielle's INVESTED podcast and attended one of Phil's weekend workshops. So I began reading Invested with some curiosity but also with the expectation that I wouldn't learn anything new. With regard to the bottom-line Rule #1 approach, my expectations were validated to some extent - but what INVESTED did do was add clarity to this investing approach as well as force me to look at it from a fresh perspective.
  
  INVESTED will also appeal to those who love a good story. All of the book is written from the perspective of Danielle who, despite the fact that her father is a very successful investor, never had any interest in investing herself. The book really is her story about her life and how it came to be that she came to the realization that she needed to learn how to invest in order to free herself from her financial shackles; her emotions as she began to learn from her father; the frustrations that come with learning a new skill; and then the elation that comes from having mastered that skill.
  
  Overall, it was an enjoyable and informational read that will appeal to anyone.
• Excellent. If you are preparing for the Atlanta workshop given by her dad, this gives you a fantastic summary of the process. You will do an abbreviated version of this and you won't be sorry if you can internalize this information before you go. I am so thankful Danielle took her dads' lessons and wrote them in a way a complete novice can follow. It has helped me put the pieces of this investing puzzle together in a way I can follow.
• Another top shelf easy to read, can't live without investing book written by Phil Town to go with his two Best-Sellers Rule #1 and Payback Time! Invested is extra-special because Mr Town walks his amazing daughter, Danielle Town, through his easy to understand, time-proven, investing strategy while she ventures in with smart skepticism.
• Really good book, it is oriented towards beginner investors or investors who do not have a good grasp on businesses intrinsic values. I read the Rule 1 book before, and Invested was still a good way to review once more time the Rule 1 approach, with some additional information (such as the checklist and the payback time). Danielle also shows how she incorporates her investment practice in her daily life, which makes it easier to incorporate in yours. I highly recommend reading it and also listening to the podcast Invested.

• I listen to their podcast and had to buy the book as well. While the podcast is hugely informative and motivating, Invested is even better. Danielle really breaks down how to value companies in an easy to read and easy to understand way. Compared to other books about Buffett this one really stands out in that, it breaks down what to focus on to a few simple formulas and numbers. Further, the way Danielle wrote this, it's entertaining, and while you're educating yourself it's still a fun read. I've listened to most of their podcasts and again these are helpful, but it is hard to know what to do math wise after listening to them. With invested having all the number in front of you, it's pretty clear what you have to do. Going to wrap this review up, so I can get back to my spreadsheets ). Thanks again Phil & Danielle for helping teach us how to fish, and for writing it down and recording it so we can take it back and really learn the stuff. Well done!
• I have been to Phil’s workshops and read his books and this is really similar to the experience I have been having with investing. Loved the book. If you put in the time and effort, you can achieve financial freedom by being invested
• Good educational book for me... as a beginner investor. Alhough I am fairly risky when it comes to investing, I don't invest in direct stocks. Instead easier for me to do mutual funds... and watch for no transaction fee and low management %. Researching and investing like Buffett makes sense, but I just don't have the time.

• A beautiful, eloquent and easy to get immersed in love story. Krytsa’s storytelling is poignant. I loved the focus on love and forgiveness- the relationships are well formed and thoughtfully written. I couldn’t put it down!
• While this book will most certainly challenge the thoughts and beliefs of mainstream christians, but keep in mind that it is a fictional work whose main goal is to bring to life the teachings of "A Course In Miracles." This is a re-telling of the old story of the life of Jesus, but with an ACIM twist, in that the teachings brought forward by Christ more resemble the teachings from ACIM than what most are familiar with in our bible of today. Beautiful story-telling and colorful descriptions highlight this re-telling of the life of our beloved Master.
• This book is well written and easy to read. I can apply the teachings to my life now. I will read it again once I have the hard copy so I can highlight areas I want to remember. I am new at meditation and there are passages that helped me to understand what to expect or to experience.
• This is a beautiful fictional book about the life and love of Jeshua (Jesus) and Mary Magdalene. I could not put the book down because the author made me feel like I was there. His beautiful descriptive writing made me feel like I was in the book sitting right next to Jeshua and Mary. Gods life lesson of forgiveness and love shine throughout this book!
